Director of Music Ministries:

First Christian Church of Wadsworth Ohio is seeking an innovative and inspirational Director of Music Ministries who will lead and develop our congregation’s volunteer musical talent and resources in an engaging mix of traditional and contemporary hymns and praise songs, styles and instrumental elements that inspire multigenerational participation in dynamic and impactful worship that glorifies Jesus Christ. This part-time position is estimated to require roughly 20 hours/week and will be compensated at $25,000 to $35,000 annually based on capabilities and experience.

First Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ), is a theologically diverse, multigenerational family of believers with core values of Christian faith, compassion and community where welcoming ALL people to the Lord’s Table is a central focus of Sunday worship. We celebrate tradition while also seeking innovation in worship music as we strive for worship excellence in the glorification of, and service to, our Lord in an ever-changing world.

Worship music is currently provided by a staff of volunteer singers and musicians with a range of talents, skill levels and passions. The church owns a piano, organ, keyboard, electric drum kit and a complete set of bells. The sanctuary is outfitted with a contemporary system of live sound, lighting, cameras and video, operated by a team of volunteer technicians and managed and controlled by Planning Center and Pro-Presenter software used to live-stream worship services. The ministry is also supported by a Song Select subscription, music library, a line-item in the annual budget and various other funding sources for innovation and continuing education.
