David French Music is a family owned and operated company that offers a welcoming, fun, and positive company culture. We provide high quality musical instrument rentals and service to communities and school systems across New England. We support music in these communities by making regular school visits and having in-house repair departments in both our MA and ME offices, as well as providing private music lessons and sales of musical instruments and accessories at our Westborough, MA office location.
This position is responsible for providing regular on-site service and support to music educators at public schools throughout Massachusetts.
Your primary responsibilities will be to cultivate lasting relationships with music educators, generate new sales leads, and increase the company’s portfolio of school rental business.
Responsibilities:
- Be the face of the company to our clients and ensure customers have a positive experience from start to finish
- Oversee local sales activities within set territory
- Facilitate new client relationships
- Evaluate customers needs and provide recommendations
- Manage client list with weekly, personal, on-site service
- Develop strong relationships with existing and potential clients
- Develop and close new leads using our proven sales & service process
- Help facilitate school music instrument demonstrations
- Schedule, manage and attend rental distribution events (petting zoos, demos and meetings)
- Participate in company meetings and one-on-one’s
- Communicate effectively with internal staff
- Attend applicable trade shows and music festivals
- Maintain knowledge of the marketplace and David French Music services and products
- Other duties may be assigned based on the needs of the business
Required skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in sales or marketing
- Advanced education in music, a plus!
- Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience
- Solid understanding of the industry and related musical equipment
- Outgoing and personable
- Self motivated - Drive your own success and contribute to the company’s achievements
- Able to communicate effectively
- Able to follow established sales and company processes and procedures
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to multi-task effectively
- Able to work effectively in a team setting
- Able to lift equipment up to 30 pounds
- Computer savvy
- Must be 18 years of age or older

- Must have valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Must enjoy driving, extensive local travel required. Company vehicle will be provided.
Salary commensurate based on experience.
