About Backend Monopoly
Backend Monopoly is a music production and management company built for scale. We focus on creating commercially viable, release-ready records while maintaining creative integrity. This is not a hobby environment. This is a production operation with structure, standards, and deadlines.
We are expanding our contractor roster and seeking independent music producers across multiple genres to support ongoing client work and internal projects.
Genres We’re Contracting For
- Hip-Hop / Trap
- R&B
- Pop
- Afrobeat / Amapiano
- Drill
- Alternative / Experimental
- Commercial / Sync-focused production
Contractor Responsibilities
- Create original, high-quality music productions from concept to final delivery
- Collaborate remotely with artists, engineers, and creative leads
- Deliver organized session files, stems, and exports on schedule
- Implement revisions efficiently while protecting the sonic vision
- Maintain professional communication and turnaround times
Contractor Requirements
- Demonstrated experience producing music at a professional or semi-professional level
- Strong command of arrangement, sound design, and current production standards
- Proficiency in at least one major DAW (Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, etc.)
- Ability to manage your own workflow, tools, and schedule
- Consistent reliability and respect for deadlines
- Portfolio or links to relevant work
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior contract work with artists, labels, or media companies
- Familiarity with music publishing, splits, and backend royalty structures
- Ability to work across multiple genres or adapt quickly
- Understanding of market-ready production, not just creative experimentation

Contract Status
This role is strictly an independent contractor position. Contractors are responsible for their own equipment, software, taxes, and availability. No employment benefits are provided.
