Music Engineer (Ableton Live Required | Gig-Based)

Overview
We’re looking for a music engineer who works natively in Ableton Live to support our projects on an as-needed, gig-based basis. This is not a full-time role. Instead, we’re building a relationship with someone we can reach out to weekly or bi-weekly as projects come up.
You must be able to receive, work within, and return full Ableton (.als) project files so everything integrates seamlessly into our workflow.
What You’ll Do
- Mix and engineer music projects inside Ableton Live
- Receive, edit, and return complete Ableton project files (.als)
- Clean, balance, and enhance multitrack sessions
- Apply EQ, compression, automation, and effects for polished, release-ready sound
- Organize sessions cleanly for handoff and revisions
- Export stems, bounces, and final mixes as needed
- Implement feedback and collaborate efficiently in a remote workflow
Requirements (Must Have)
- Strong proficiency in Ableton Live
- Ability to open, modify, and return Ableton project files
- Solid understanding of music engineering fundamentals
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Reliable communication and availability on a weekly or bi-weekly basis
- Portfolio with examples of music engineering or mixing work
Nice to Have
- Mastering experience
- Sound design or production background
- Experience working with remote or distributed teams
- Familiarity with multiple music genres
Compensation
