Compensation for adjunct faculty with fewer than 3 years college teaching experience is $2820 for a 3-credit course
Compensation for adjunct faculty with 3 or more years college teaching experience is $3513 for a 3-credit course.
ResponsibilitiesThe Basic Musicianship course (MUSC101) serves as an introduction to music theory and composition and is an entry point for students with little or no background in music. This is an introductory course intended to develop fundamental knowledge of musical elements and skills. Students in this course develop music reading and beginning compositional skills through the study of rhythmic exercises, ear training, basic theory, analysis and composition.
This course will be offered during the SP26 semester on Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings from 10-10:50am and 11-11:50am, so any potential candidate would need to be available for those times. The Spring semester begins on Wednesday, January 21st and the semester ends on Tuesday, May 12th. This course will be taught in person and on campus in Springfield, MA.
Qualifications- Masters, MFA, or Doctorate required
- A background in the field of Music Theory or Composition is preferred
- College teaching experience is preferred
