Position SummaryThe Collinsworth School of Performing Arts at California Baptist University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in choral/vocal music education, serving as Associate Director of Choral Studies, beginning Fall 2026. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.QualificationsQualified applicants must hold an earned doctorate in music education, choral conducting, or closely related field. ABD or commensurate secondary teaching experience (5+ years preferred) will also be considered. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated expertise in effective vocal pedagogy and a proven ability to build and maintain thriving choral programs at the secondary and/or collegiate level. The candidate will also be expected to maintain an active program of personal scholarship and service to the university and community.Teaching ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Choral Literature and Choral Methods, conducting assigned choral ensembles, supervising student teachers in the choral area, and maintaining a creative and/or scholarly career in music education, leading to a prominent reputation in the field.
