Role Description
This is a part-time (3 days per week, flexible), remote role for a Creative Music Coordinator. The Coordinator will assist with various music supervision and licensing tasks, coordinate with artists and producers, and support custom music productions.
The role involves building playlists for clients, interpreting creative briefs, and delivering music searches quickly and effectively for film, television, advertising, sports, trailers, and other media. The Coordinator will also help manage music catalogs, organize metadata, and collaborate closely with the creative and sync teams to ensure smooth project execution within tight deadlines.
This position requires someone who is highly responsive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple creative requests.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in music supervision, music licensing, or a related creative music role
- Experience building playlists and delivering music searches for a variety of clients
- Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into strong music selections
Strong knowledge of music genres and subgenres across a wide spectrum of styles, including:
- Popular and commercial music
- Classical music
- Film score and composers
- Latin music styles
- Jazz styles
- World music traditions
- Understanding of what makes music sync-friendly, and how musical needs differ across media such as TV, advertising, sports programming, trailers, and promos
- Familiarity with the current television, advertising, and media landscape
- Knowledge of music catalog management and music production workflows
- Some understanding of metadata, keywords, and search strategies used in music discovery
- Ability to develop personal systems to deliver faster and more effective music searches (e.g., maintaining sampler playlists, tracking search patterns, and learning catalog strengths)
- High level of responsiveness and strong attention to incoming requests and messages
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Technical Skills
- Basic proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (helpful for analyzing search data and identifying song opportunities)
- Familiarity with music platforms, catalog systems, or search engines
- Bonus experience with tools such as CadenzaBox, Disco, Box, AIMS, Cyanite, or ClickUp
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Music or strong equivalent industry experience preferred
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
