Lipscomb University’s School of Music in Nashville, Tennessee, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/AssociateProfessor of Choral Music Education and Choral Activities, beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate coursesin music education; direct at least one of Lipscomb University’s premier vocal ensembles, such as the Concert Choir or the UniversityChorale, and provide overall leadership for the choral program.
Teaching may include elementary and secondary methods, instructionaltechnologies, conducting, choral literature, and related areas aligned with expertise.
Responsibilities include:
- curriculum and program development
- supervision of student teachers
- coordination with the College of Education toensure alignment with certification standards
- active recruitment for undergraduate programs
- cultivating partnerships witharea K–12 educators
The role also encompasses planning and recruiting for all choral program activities.
Additionalresponsibilities include:
- participating in School and University service, such as committee work
- assisting withstudent recruitment
- mentoring
- community engagement
Applicants should hold a master’s degree (doctoratepreferred, ABD considered) in Music Education or a closely related field. At least 3 years of successful K–12 music teaching, successfulhigher-education teaching, and a strong record of student recruitment and mentoring.
