The Department of Music at Lebanon Valley College seeks an adjunct instructor in low brass. The successful candidate will teachindividual lessons and courses in low brass literature and low brass pedagogy, including brass techniques, and oversee the College’s BrassChamber Ensembles. Qualifications include a master’s degree in music. College-level teaching experience is desirable.
Responsibilities: teach 30- or 60-minute weekly lessons in both classical and jazz performance to undergraduate students (music majorsand non-majors), prepare music majors for semesterly performance juries, teach brass techniques to the music education majors, and prepareselect students for recitals. Teach courses in pedagogy and literature on an as-needed basis. Oversee the Brass Chamber Ensembles andprepare two performances annually. Provide appropriate course syllabi to all students. Participate in annual teaching evaluations.
Lebanon Valley College offers three music degrees: BS in Music Education, BM in Music Production, and BA in Music. Approximately 25% ofundergraduate students are involved in music, and music is considered a special strength of the college.
