SENIOR HOME AUDIO REPAIR TECHNICIAN
Audiophiles & Music Lovers Wanted
Who we are
The Music Room is the world’s largest dedicated reseller of pre-owned HiFi Audio Gear. We are a team of music lovers who are dedicated to a singular mission: delivering the very best online shopping experience in the HiFi industry. We feel that there is nothing more fulfilling than creating a high-performance, 2-channel HiFi system on any budget with carefully selected used components, speakers and cables.
As our business continues to grow, we are expanding our Quality Assurance team and are seeking an experienced Senior Home Audio Repair Technician to help elevate our repair operations and support the long-term growth of our Repair department.
Position Overview
This role is intended for a Senior Repair Technician with deep, hands-on experience repairing and servicing high-end consumer home audio equipment. The primary focus of this position is advanced diagnosis, refurbishment, and repair of HiFi gear; however, this role also offers a clear path to leadership.
In addition to repairing equipment, this position has a defined roadmap toward becoming Service Manager. Over time, the Senior Repair Technician will help lead the Repair department, oversee other technicians, and contribute to the development of repair processes, documentation, and quality standards.
Long-term, this role is expected to:
● Help lead and mentor other repair technicians
● Oversee repair workflows, quality standards, and department processes
● Partner with Operations and Quality Assurance teams to scale repair capabilities
● Contribute to tooling, systems, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts
● Ultimately run the Repair department as a profit center and help grow volume
This role is ideal for a seasoned technician who enjoys hands-on repair work today and is interested in department ownership and leadership in the future.
Job Description
Our Quality Assurance team is responsible for receiving, testing, and preparing high-end consumer audio equipment for resale. This role requires a balance of efficiency and thoroughness, as attention to detail is critical at every stage.
The Music Room specializes in home audio equipment (not studio, live sound, or pro gear). We process components and speakers across a wide range of brands and technologies, spanning modern and vintage equipment.
When testers identify an issue or an opportunity to bring a unit up to our standards, the equipment is routed to the Repair team. The Senior Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, refurbishing, and repairing equipment, as well as documenting all work in our ticketing system.
Required Experience and Qualifications
● 10–15 years of professional electronics repair experience
● Strong working knowledge of electronics theory, including voltage, current, Ohm’s Law, and the function of resistors, capacitors, transistors, and related components
● Experience using test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
● Proven experience with component-level troubleshooting and PCB soldering
● Specific experience repairing consumer HiFi audio equipment (or closely related pro-audio equipment)
● Ability to work independently while also contributing to team-based workflows
● Interest in long-term leadership and department ownership

Core Values:
Innovation – DEFY THE GENRE – We are all about making some noise in our industry and doing things differently. We are: Experimental. Groundbreaking. Trailblazers. The HiFi Biz Remixed. We are always exploring and embracing change because we believe we can do it better.
Process – HIT ALL THE RIGHT NOTES – Every detail matters. We value: Fundamentals. Precision. Execution. Consistency. Everyone is playing from the same sheet of music. Our commitment to scalable processes is essential to achieving “standing ovations” from our customers.
Teamwork – NO SOLO ACTS – There’s no lead singer taking the spotlight here. No room for oversized egos. We see the best in each other. We are a smart, talented, tight-knit band where everyone plays their part, and we work in harmony to produce incredible outcomes.
Passion – STAY FOR THE ENCORE – We are passionate about what we do, and we stay connected to each other and our audience through music. We are not a clock-in/clock-out, “go through the motions” organization. We have fun, but we also care deeply about our work, and we are fueled by our passion to achieve excellence.
Authenticity – NO CHEESY COVER SONGS – We stay true to the music that moves us with original compositions, performed in High Fidelity-Unfiltered communication. Integrity. Truth. Leave the “Hotel California” renditions at home. Let’s make some original music that we can be proud of.
