Christ Lutheran Church in Ferndale, Washington seeks a Service Musician who will provide piano and potentially organ accompaniment for all worship services at Christ Lutheran Church.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
· Provide musical accompaniment at all worship services and at mutually agreed upon rehearsals of choir and Praise Teams.
· Provide piano or organ music for liturgy, hymns/songs, choir anthems, and special music each Sunday.
· Help plan and perform music for special services, accompanying on keyboard.
· Help arrange for appropriate coverage for vacation, illness, or emergency.
REQUIRED/DESIRED GIFTS
· Ability to play and perform in a variety of church music genres including traditional and contemporary styles.
· Commitment to serving the triune God and the Christian church.
· Demonstrated level of musical ability and technological capability
· Capability to work cooperatively with other musicians
· Access to a computer and internet for communication and uploading purposes
· Schedule flexibility to accommodate the times for worship services and rehearsal
· Appreciation for Lutheran liturgy and theology (or willingness to learn)
SUPERVISION
· Supervised and evaluated by the pastor with input from Worship & Music Committee.
OTHER INFORMATION
· Non-exempt position, paid hourly
· Compensation DOE/DOQ, likely between $20-25/hour
· Per PTO policy, 1 hour of sick/personal time is granted for every 40 hours worked, usable after the ninetieth day of employment. No other paid vacation time is granted.
