Happy Minds School of Music seeks a motivated, flexible, and organized teammate for the violin, and woodwind (Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute). This teammate will work closely with the director and help our student's academic development in their piano studying. The ideal teammate enjoys working with others and teaching, likes working with kids, and seeks career development in designing community programs. This position is for someone who enjoys teaching and would like to develop skills in arts administration. This is a part-time position requires in-person work in Redmond and Bellevue, WA. The position also requires attendance at some events on weekends.
Principal Duties
· Plan individual lessons and overall curriculum for students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
· Teach individuals and/or group lessons, each lasting from 30 minutes to an hour, usually incorporating elements of general musicianship, such as ear training, rhythm training, and theory, as well as instrumental technique and interpretation.
· Prepare students for recitals, examinations, auditions, and festivals.
· Write down assignments for each student weekly and include specific instructions and goals.
· Meet with school director and parents of students to discuss and resolve students’ problems.
· Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
· Assist with children's program evaluation and recordkeeping of instructors' achievements.
· Help manage and coordinate new programs.
· Support the school with program growth.
· Perform tasks assigned by the Director to help with students' accompaniment.
Preferred Qualifications
· A bachelor's degree in music or education or higher.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely in both written and oral formats.
· 3 or more years of private teaching experience working with piano students.
· Must have scheduling availability to work in the afternoon from 3 pm-8 pm.
· Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to organize large quantities of information.
· Commitment to working as a team.

· Salary range: $30 to $45 (Summer Lessons are optional)

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
