SUMMARY: The Accompanist supports the music ministry of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church by providing piano accompaniment for weekly choir rehearsals and periodically accompany the choir for Sunday worship services, as well as occasional services such as weddings, funerals, and other events when available. The accompanist works collaboratively with the Director of Music to enhance worship and uphold the mission of the congregation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide piano accompaniment for the choir at weekly rehearsals (currently Thursday evenings).
- Accompany the choir during Sunday morning worship services.
- Communicate with the Director of Music regarding repertoire, rehearsal needs, and service planning.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality for rehearsals and services
- Be available for additional services (weddings, funerals, special events) when possible, with compensation arranged separately.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1–2 years of experience as an accompanist (church or school setting preferred).
- Strong sight-reading ability and flexibility in adapting to varied musical styles.
- Collaborative spirit and ability to follow a conductor.
- Commitment to the mission of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and willingness to work in a faith-based environment.

COMPENSATION:
This is a part-time, non-exempt position. Compensation is offered per service and rehearsal:
- Weekly choir rehearsals: $75
- Sunday choir rehearsal and choir accompaniment during service: $100
- Pay for weddings, funerals, and other events will be negotiated separately.
