As a growing academy with a commitment to educational excellence, we are seeking a qualified and dedicated Voice Instructor to provide private lessons on-site. The ideal candidate will hold at least a Master's degree in Voice Performance, Vocal Pedagogy, or a closely related field and be passionate about helping students of all ages develop confidence, artistry, and technical proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and effective private voice lessons on-site at North Dallas Music Academy
- Develop individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's age, experience level, goals, and learning style
- Teach healthy vocal technique, musicianship, sight-reading, diction, and performance skills
- Prepare students for recitals, auditions, competitions, music examinations, and other performance opportunities as appropriate
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and academy administration regarding student progress and goals
- Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records through the academy's student management system
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Master's degree (minimum) in Voice Performance, Vocal Pedagogy, or a related field
- Previous experience teaching private voice lessons to students of various ages and skill levels
- Experience preparing students for festivals, evaluations, and performance assessments through local, state, and national music organizations
- Strong knowledge of vocal technique, vocal health, repertoire, and music theory
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate, inspire, and connect with students in a positive and encouraging manner
- Professional demeanor and commitment to educational excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (completed or in progress) in Voice Performance, Vocal Pedagogy, or a related field
- Experience preparing students for auditions, competitions, music examinations, and other adjudicated events
- Experience teaching within the Royal Conservatory curriculum and preparing students for practical and theory examinations
- Familiarity with a variety of musical styles, including classical, musical theatre, contemporary commercial music, and sacred music
- Experience teaching both children (ages 8+) and adults
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in music pedagogy
