What You’ll Do as an Acorn to Oak Teacher
- Create a safe, loving, and engaging child care environment in classrooms for children aged 3 months–5 years old
- Design and implement age-appropriate, play-based curriculum focused on creativity, nature, and emergent interests
- Foster meaningful relationships with children and families, supporting each child’s emotional, social, and cognitive growth
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrative staff to maintain a consistent, high-quality learning environment
- Keep your classroom clean, organized, and inviting
- Participate fully in the rhythm of the day—circle time, transitions, outdoor exploration, meals, naps, and more
Qualifications – What You Bring to the Team
Required:
- 12+ Early Childhood Education units (must include Infant/Toddler Development, Child, Family & Community, and Curriculum)
- At least 6 months of experience in a licensed child care or daycare setting
- Criminal Record Clearance & Mandated Reporter Certificate
- Current health screening, TB clearance, and immunizations (MMR, Tdap, Flu)
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, kneel, bend, and actively play with children throughout the day
Preferred:
- AA or BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a preschool teacher or daycare teacher in a licensed child care program
