Video Game / Anime Music Video Editor – $50 Per Completed Video
SownSky is looking for a creative video editor with experience making video game music videos, anime music videos (AMVs), cinematic edits, or similar fan-style content.

SownSky has an established YouTube audience of over 24,000 subscribers. This is a passion-driven project and a chance for an editor to have their work featured in front of an existing audience while collaborating on creative video game and anime music videos.
Compensation
$50 per completed video, paid after the final approved video is delivered.
This is intended to become an ongoing collaboration. If the first project goes well, I would like to continue working with the same editor on additional videos.
Many of the songs being used initially are passion projects and may not generate revenue for SownSky. More than anything, the goal is to create something entertaining and creative while building a long-term working relationship with the right editor.
How the Process Works
For each project, I will provide the song and explain the general creative concept, including:
- Which video game, anime, or other source material I believe fits the song
- Particular scenes, sequences, characters, or story moments I would like incorporated
- The overall tone and pacing I have in mind
- Specific moments in the song that should line up with particular visuals
From there, the editor will use their own creativity and editing experience to turn the concept into a finished music video.
We will communicate throughout the process and go back and forth on revisions as needed until we reach a final version.
The editor will also create shorter edits or clips from the completed video for use on Instagram and other social media platforms.
Creator Credit
The editor will receive creator credit when the finished video is published.
Credit can include links to the editor's:
- YouTube channel
- Instagram
- Editing portfolio
- Other relevant social-media account
I want the editor's contribution to the project to be clearly recognized.
Experience Required
Applicants must have previous experience creating video game music videos, anime music videos, cinematic fan edits, or comparable music-based content.
You must provide either your YouTube channel or a direct link to at least one music video, AMV, video game edit, or similar project you have personally edited.
For the first project specifically, applicants should:
- Have played at least some of the Resident Evil games
- Be familiar with and a fan of Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World
- Understand how to match music with character moments, action sequences, emotional scenes, and story beats
- Be comfortable receiving detailed creative feedback and making revisions
- Have strong timing, pacing, transitions, and music synchronization skills
Knowledge of video games and anime is important for this project. I am looking for someone who understands the source material rather than someone simply placing random footage over a song.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal editor is someone who already enjoys making this type of content and wants to collaborate on creative projects rather than treating this as a standard commercial editing assignment.
Creativity is encouraged. I will provide direction for each video, but I also want the editor to contribute ideas and suggest scenes or editing choices that could make the final product better.
