Further Music School is expanding and seeking 3–5 dedicated Full-Time Piano Instructors to join our teaching team across our Manhattan and Queens locations.
We are looking for professional music educators who are passionate about teaching and interested in building a stable, long-term career with our school. This position is ideal for teachers who enjoy working with students of different ages and levels and are comfortable maintaining a full teaching schedule across multiple school locations.
Experienced and senior music educators are strongly encouraged to apply. We highly value extensive teaching experience, maturity, reliability, professionalism, and long-term commitment to music education.
Responsibilities
- Teach private piano lessons to children, teens, and adults from beginner through advanced levels
- Develop individualized lesson plans based on each student's goals, ability, and learning style
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, evaluations, and music examinations when appropriate
- Provide clear practice guidance and regular feedback to students and parents
- Maintain lesson notes and monitor student progress
- Communicate professionally with students, families, school administration, and other faculty members
- Participate in school recitals, performances, meetings, and educational events as needed
- Maintain a positive, engaging, and professional learning environment
- Build strong, long-term relationships with students and families
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Piano Performance, Music Education, or a related field preferred
- Strong piano performance, musicianship, and teaching skills
- Previous private or group teaching experience strongly preferred
- Ability to teach students of different ages and skill levels
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, reliable, organized, and punctual
- Comfortable communicating regularly with parents and school administration
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be interested in a stable, long-term, full-time teaching position
Experienced teachers, senior music educators, and retired or semi-retired educators who would like to maintain an active teaching schedule are warmly encouraged to apply.
Multi-Location Availability Required
This is a full-time, in-person position, and flexibility to work across multiple Further Music School locations is an important requirement.
Candidates must be willing and able to teach at multiple locations in Manhattan and Queens, including:
- Upper East Side
- Lower Manhattan
- Forest Hills, Queens
Candidates should be comfortable traveling between locations based on the school's teaching schedule and enrollment needs.
Broad availability is preferred, particularly during weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends.
