The Music Ministries Team at First Congregational Church of Hudson is accepting applications for Choral Scholars.
Current openings exist for soprano, mezzo/alto, tenor and bass/baritone voices.
Successful Choral Scholars will:
- possess a strong sense of pitch, excellent sight-reading abilities and musicianship in a variety of musical styles.
- consistently demonstrate a great attitude, a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, and possess an understanding of the spiritual nature of our work together.
- attend Wednesday evening choral rehearsals (typically 7pm to no later than 9:30pm, oftentimes ending earlier).
- sing weekly as an ensemble member and, as needed, as a soloist at 10am Sunday morning services.
- serve occasionally (1-2 times per month) as a soloist or ensemble member at 8:30am Sunday morning services (such services would are paid as an additional call).
- as available, serve as an ensemble singer and/or soloist at additional services (e.g. Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, memorial services, weddings, etc.) (paid as additional calls).
- assist in finding a substitute singer of the same voice part when unable to attend a rehearsal or service.
For qualified and interested Choral Scholars, opportunities may also exist in conducting, rehearsing, accompanying and composition. Compensation: $70 per call (calls include ensemble rehearsals and individual services).
