Grosse Pointe Music Academy is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented cleaner to keep our music school clean, comfortable, and welcoming for students, families, and teachers.
This is a recurring part-time position with a consistent schedule. Cleaning will generally take place during evening hours after lessons or at another agreed-upon time when the academy is not busy. Each scheduled visit includes a minimum of three paid hours.
Responsibilities include:
- Vacuuming classrooms, hallways, and common areas
- Spot-cleaning carpets and performing periodic carpet cleaning as needed
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms
- Emptying trash and replacing liners
- Dusting and wiping down furniture and surfaces
- Cleaning mirrors, doors, and high-touch areas
- Mopping hard floors
- Tidying the reception and waiting areas
- Restocking basic restroom and cleaning supplies
- Notifying management when supplies or repairs are needed
- Carefully cleaning around musical instruments and electronic equipment
Qualifications:
- Dependable and able to maintain a consistent schedule
- Previous residential, office, school, or commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Experience using carpet-cleaning equipment preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently without direct supervision
- Reliable transportation
- Comfortable lifting up to 25 pounds and performing physical cleaning duties
- Professional and trustworthy
- Willing to complete a background check
