New Carlisle First United Methodist is looking for a piano/organ player. This person would be part of our staff, working in a part-time position, helping us in our mission to follow Jesus, grow in faith, and make a difference.
Availability is needed for Sundays from 9:30am-10:45am, practice during the week, special occasions and Holiday services.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key member of the Worship Team, accompanying musicians, choir, and other staff members
- Collaborate with the Pastor in selecting appropriate music for Sunday morning worship service and other special events
- Participate in weekly music rehearsals
- Share the church’s vision and mission
Gifts and strengths desired:
- A stable, maturing Christian with a strong commitment to Christian values and moral standards in Scripture.
- Organizational, leadership, and shepherding skills
Talents and abilities desired:
- Training and experience in piano and organ, sight reading, and playing from chord charts.
- Ability/willingness to play organ for traditional hymns.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in playing the piano
- Strong understanding of music theory and notation
- Experience performing in theater productions
- Ability to lead musical performances
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to adapt to different musical styles and genres
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $125.00 - $160.00 per week
Expected hours: 3 per week
