Job Description
The organist shall:
1. Be proficient at playing both the electronic organ and acoustic piano.
2. Be available to play the music for the weekly Sunday morning traditional worship service and also accompany the choir director at weekly chancel choir rehearsals.
3. Play and direct the music for the weekly Sunday morning traditional worship services (8:30 AM and 11:00 AM) and at weekly chancel choir rehearsals.
4. Play and direct the music for special services including (but not limited to) Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
5. Arrange and conduct rehearsals as necessary.
6. Be able to play and direct both traditional and contemporary style music.
7. Coordinate the music, including anthems, with senior pastor.
8. Be able to relate to a wide variety of ages (children to seniors).
9. Demonstrate a Christian lifestyle.
10. Fill out a weekly timesheet.
11. Fill his or her position during absences.
12. Report to the senior pastor.
