The requirements are as follows:

All Academy instructors are paid a competitive hourly rate which takes into consideration all of the administrative work, resources and marketing provided by the academy. We opened our first location in Powell in 2008, our 2nd location in Lewis Center in 2017, our third location in Hilliard in 2020 and our Dublin location in 2022. We currently have over 1,100 weekly private lesson students and 70+ instructors.
WHY MUSIC TEACHERS CHOOSE TO TEACH AT OUR ACADEMY
A CONSTANT FLOW OF NEW STUDENTS
Over the course of the year, students can move or quit. This can leave a teacher with gaps or holes in their schedule. Most students register and start lessons in September. Most music schools only advertise in late August and September for new students. At our school we spend a lot of money on advertising and marketing year round to keep our teacher’s schedules as full as possible. Each year we spend well over $60,000 on advertising in newspapers, online, direct mail, community publications and other media to constantly attract new students. We are continually registering new students for our private music lessons even during typically slower registration months like May or June. Our instructors across the board maintain schedules each day that are 80-95% full.
EXTRAS ARE TAKEN CARE OF – YOUR ONLY RESPONSIBILITY IS TO TEACH.
At all of our locations we have full time front desk administrators to handle all of the “details” of teaching. From scheduling to collecting fees or arranging an accompanist for recitals, these details are handled by our administrators not the teacher. This means the teacher is free to focus on teaching and not get bogged down by administration. Many teachers discount just how important it is to have full-time office staff handling the customer service side of the business. We have multiple professional office staff working so that you will never have to deal with things like rescheduling, billing or recital planning!
YOUR TIME IS RESPECTED AND YOU ARE PAID WHETHER OR NOT STUDENTS SHOW UP.
Teachers are paid for all late cancellations, trial lessons and no shows. If a student does not pay for their lessons or has an uncollectible debt, the teacher is still paid. Our priority for our teachers is to make sure that your time is not abused and your teaching day can be as productive as possible.
USE THE MATERIALS YOU LIKE BEST
There is no mandated school-wide curriculum or set of method books. Unlike many other music schools or stores, we are not looking to sell any merchandise or books. (any music that we have in stock is sold through a third party) We trust our teachers to be experts in their fields, and encourage them to use the materials they think are best for each individual student.
RECITALS AND PERFORMANCES
We offer two recitals each year for our students. We handle all of the planning and cover the entire cost of the recitals. Everything from the recital programs to the sound system at the venue. We take care of all of it so you don't have to.
COMFORTABLE AND PROFESSIONAL TEACHING ENVIRONMENT
We provide our teachers with a beautiful, comfortable, spacious teaching space. All of our locations are clean, newer, and well-maintained with professional equipment.
ALWAYS KNOW YOUR SCHEDULE WITH OUR ONLINE SCHEDULING SYSTEM
Access your updated schedule, absences, make-ups, etc. online through our online system at any time! Our system is incredibly easy to navigate and allows teachers to always be kept up to date on their students and schedule from home or on-the-go or wherever you are. Plus every time a student enrolls or drops or changes their schedule, you will immediately be sent an email notification, and your schedule automatically updated.
MOTIVATE YOUR STUDENTS WITH OUR LEVEL UP PROGRAM
Our Level Up program is incredibly customizable for teachers and very motivating for students. Level Up helps keep things organized and provides an easy way for parents to see their child’s progress. If you’ve ever wanted a way to inspire students to practice harder, make more progress, and get parents on board like never before, this is it! Our students remain in lessons longer and achieve higher because of this program, which is so flexible and easy for teachers to use.
RESPECT AND APPRECIATION
Excellent teachers don’t grow on trees. We truly value and respect each one of our instructors. Feel free to ask for references from other current instructors. They love it here!
