Summer position.

This is NOT A REMOTE POSITION.

Seeking a qualified private orchestral string teacher to join our team for Summer! An applicant to this position must be available to teach or sub enrolled private students in a Music Store Studio setting (must be qualified to teach beginner to intermediate Orchestral Strings, including beginner to intermediate Violin, some beginner Cello, beginner Viola and some beginner guitar, or beginner piano as needed- ability to teach youth voice is a plus, but not mandatory).

A person seeking this position must be available between the hours of 4pm-8pm various weekdays in Summer TBA.

Applicant must be highly proficient in music, all elements of music reading, music theory, and be experienced and comfortable teaching children and adults of various levels.

Although a music education degree is not required, it is preferred - or, in lieu a minimum of 2 years study in a music college (or other professional music associations such as symphonic performer, member American Federation of Musicians, member Musicians Guild, or other similar professional musician or music teacher organizations, will be considered).

We are seeking a reliable flex-sub to teach a 1 to 4 day schedule of enrolled students (March) - with the opportunity to continue afterward with a regular schedule of students.

Responsibilities:

- Teach private lessons in a music store studio setting to students of various ages/levels

- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the individual needs of students

- Provide instruction in a variety of musical styles and genres

- Assess student progress and provide feedback to enhance learning

Experience:

- Experience working with students in a private music lesson setting in-person, and online

- Strong understanding of music reading, music theory and music proficiency

- Background in adult education is a plus

- Knowledge of childhood development principles is a plus

- Experience teaching music to children and adults of varying proficiency levels

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
