The College of New Jersey invites applications for a ten-month, Visiting Assistant Professor position in Music Technology (non-tenure track) starting August 2025. The position carries a 4-3 teaching load, and additionally entails coordination of the Music Technology minor and advising students in the minor.

Required courses include:

- Electronic Music: Using Logic Pro, intro-level studio techniques, MIDI sequencing, synthesis, sampling, mixing, and audio production; also theoretical and historical developments in electronic music.

- Interactive Music Programming: Using Max, a focus on MIDI, interface design, and controllers; also programming fundamentals including loops, logic, conditional statements, and data structures.

Depending on expertise, additional courses could include those already in our catalog - such as Audio Signal Processing or Scoring for Media - or a Special Topics or First Year Seminar course.

Minimum qualifications:

- A Masters degree in Music Technology or a related field at time of appointment (PhD preferred);

- College-level teaching experience in Music Technology; and

- A record of relevant scholarly research, professional and/or creative activity.

The ideal candidate will:

- Demonstrate excellent teaching skills in the context of an undergraduate curriculum, where students' skills are introductory;

- Be positioned to help students navigate the professional landscape, and pursue internship and career opportunities in the region (New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania).
