The Opportunity:

West Liberty University isseeking applications for a Visiting Faculty- Director of Bands and Percussion member. The Department of Music & Theatre at West LibertyUniversity is seeking applications for a Full-time Visiting Professor of Music to serve as Director of Bands and Percussion* instructor.

Essential Functions of the position:

Direct the Marching Hilltoppers and Concert Band
Direct other ensembles asneeded by the program and according to the candidate's expertise
Coordinate instruments and equipment related to the duties of aDirector of Bands
Teach Applied Lessons. *Percussion is preferred but woodwinds and high brass candidates will also beconsidered
Teach other courses as needed by the program and according to the candidate's expertise and experience
LeadRecruitment efforts for all degrees: Music Education, Music Performance, and Music Technology
Positively represent the program,department, college, and university at on-campus and off-campus performances and other events

Education & ExperienceRequirements:

Masters degree in Music required, Doctorate preferred
Percussionist preferred but woodwinds and highbrass candidates will also be considered
Experience leading collegiate Marching Band and Concert Band is required
SteelBand experience is preferred

Anticipated Faculty Appointment Date: August 1, 2026

A faculty member is expected to participate incontinuous improvement in the areas of teaching, professional development, and service to the University and community. Salary will becommensurate with experience.
