The Global Advertising and Brand Management (GABM) team is responsible for creating marketplace demand and driving commerce for American Express products and services through differentiated and innovative branding, marketing, and experiences. We have an ambitious goal: to be the most admired brand in the Fortune 500 and we aim to deliver on that by doing work that is both creative and effective. The Global Brand Sponsorships and Experiential Marketing team sits within GABM and leads 40+ partnerships globally, delivering best-in-class ticket access, live event and digital engagement platforms across Card Member and Prospect passion points of sports, music, theater and various other cultural interests.

This role will be responsible for executing the strategic vision of American Express’ role in Entertainment Access tied to musical artists partnerships. Experience and connection to the music industry, working with numerous stakeholders from artists teams to promoters is required. The candidate should be an expert relationship-builder, able to seamlessly work across teams and manage external agencies with finesse and collaboration, to deliver internal stakeholder, Card Member and overall brand value. Exceptional leadership, organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities are essential.

Reporting to the Vice President, Music & Entertainment, this Director role will be New-York based.

Core Responsibilities:

Develop and drive the execution of American Express’ Artist partnership activations, bringing our brand to life at scale for consumers in new, innovative ways

Support partnership evaluations and contract negotiations across new and prospective deals Manage a robust set of internal and external agency partners to develop and execute plans and continuously innovate our experiential offerings Represent American Express to the Music/Entertainment industry to deepen our relationships, knowledge, and development to continue to be on the cutting edge of fan experiences Create and present activation plans in strategic, clear manner internal and external executive-level parties Qualifications:

8+ years work experience with focus area in music sponsorships, events, experiential marketing, and partnerships, including at least 2 years as team leader

Passion for/understanding of entertainment and music industry Personal excellence in relationship building with instinctual partnership orientation, working closely with a diverse set of internal and external partners Strategic thinker, well-versed in proficient approaches to managing high scale and high visibility assets

Executive presence and presentation skills; effective communicator at all levels of organizations

Travel required (~20%) to execute onsite programs Bachelor’s degree required

High energy, self-starter, team-oriented, innovative and entrepreneurial spirit

Ability to work under pressure and be a calm, confident, solutions-oriented problem solver Proficiency in budget management and the necessary decisiveness to focus investments appropriately

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
