Position Summary:
The Church of the Covenant, a vibrant congregation located in Cleveland’s University Circle, seeks a tech-savvy and creative Audio-Visual Services Manager to support and enhance our worship experiences and digital ministry. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of faith, music, and media technology in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
The AV Services Manager will oversee all audio and visual components of worship services and special events, lead and mentor a team of college student assistants, and ensure high-quality livestreams, recordings, and archival practices. The ideal candidate will be a team player with strong technical skills, an understanding of musical worship (particularly classical and sacred music), and a passion for innovation in digital ministry.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and operate AV systems during weekly worship services, concerts, and other church events.
- Manage livestreaming and recording using platforms such as Wirecast or similar software.
- Maintain and archive video and audio recordings of worship services and events.
- Ensure the proper functioning of AV equipment; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Supervise and train a team of college student AV assistants and volunteers.
- Collaborate with clergy, musicians, staff, and volunteers to support worship and ministry needs.
- Recommend upgrades or improvements to AV infrastructure as needed.
- Maintain a positive and calm presence in a live production environment.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in live audio and video production, preferably in a worship, concert, or performance setting.
- Strong familiarity with Dante audio networking, LogicPro (or similar DAWs), and Wirecast (or comparable video software).
- Proficiency with Mac operating systems (primary) and Windows (secondary), along with tools in the Google Workspace suite (Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc.).
- Experience or comfort working in classical and/or sacred music environments.
- Ability to recruit, mentor, and lead student workers and volunteers.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology and learn new systems.
- A collaborative, mission-oriented spirit and a willingness to work in a faith-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in music, performance, or worship arts.
- Experience with video editing and digital media creation.
- Familiarity with church or nonprofit settings.
Working Conditions:
- Part-time hours; schedule includes Sunday mornings.
- Physical demands may include lifting and setting up AV equipment, climbing ladders, and extended periods of standing during live events.
