Position: Assistant Choir Director

Mason High School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic full-time Assistant Choir Director to support the growth, equity, and excellence of its nationally recognized choral program. This role supports instruction across all choir classes, facilitates sectionals, shares conducting responsibilities, assists with assessments and productions, and plays a key role in program development and alignment from grades 7–12.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Equity: Provide differentiated, small-group, and sectional instruction across all six high school choir ensembles, including advanced-level groups.
Daily Rehearsal Support: Co-lead rehearsals, assist in lesson planning, and provide flexible, responsive instruction.
Conducting Duties: Share conducting responsibilities to ensure consistency and musical leadership across five ensembles.
Assessment & Feedback: Support individualized student assessment, grading, and feedback for over 200 students to enhance instructional quality.
Production Support: Assist in planning and execution of major performances (e.g., Elegant Holiday, Taste of Mason), including volunteer coordination and logistics.
Vertical Alignment: Support middle school choir instruction, sectionals, and mentorship to strengthen the 7–12 program continuum.
Collaborative Planning: Engage in daily collaborative planning with the head director to streamline instruction and administrative responsibilities.
Program Enrichment & Fundraising: Coordinate enrichment opportunities, fundraising efforts, and student participation in external events (OMEA, honor choirs, etc.).
Program Sustainability: Contribute to long-term program development, student engagement, and instructional capacity
