Salary: $30 or more per hour (rate based on experience). Bi-weekly payroll (1099, 26 pays per year)
About the Drum Set Music Instructor Position
Music instructors will plan and facilitate private lessons and be present at the end-of-session recitals. Knowledge of classroom/studio management techniques, consistent communication, and creating a positive teaching environment that supports student success is essential to this position.
Part-time music instructors teach during our fall, spring, and summer programs. Hours vary depending on our program schedules and student needs, ranging from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We are specifically looking for instructors in Drum Set for private lessons at Fairmount's Chardon Location. Ability to teach other instruments in addition to drums preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Create and facilitate individual music lessons on drum set for youth and adults.
- Coordinate with administrative staff to confirm student and lesson schedules and address student and parent questions or concerns.
- Utilize sound pedagogy and age appropriate content, materials, and assessment methods.
- Attend end-of-session music recitals (December and May).
- Attend music faculty meetings and training sessions as required.
Position Requirements:
- Education, training, and experience in music education and/or performance in your area of specialization.
- Experience working with a wide range of ages and abilities.
- Teaching experience in the area of music / your area of specialization.
- Ability to teach more than one age group or instrument a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
