Overview: Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Gifted and Fine Arts. The individual will work directly with the high school vocal music teacher. The individual will assist the high school vocal music teacher with the production of the various musical events, performances, and the daily operations of the Vocal Music Department.
Job Summary: 7.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, 195 days/year. There may be instances when the hours need to be flexed to meet the demands of student rehearsals, competitions and performances.
Responsibilities:
Organize the flow of written correspondence including service contracts
Coordinate communication with the vocal/general music teachers at the elementary and middle schools
Order supplies
Track and assign uniforms, robes and costumes for performances
Assist with scheduling the set up of school musical and concert details
Responsible for maintaining inventory of choir uniforms, accessories, etc.; order replacement items as needed
Contact parents/guardians with pertinent information regarding performances, activities, and fundraising
Assist with student eligibility
Assist in organizing fundraisers
Maintain records of funds collected and released for music the department
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of college coursework
OR an Associate's Degree or higher
OR high school diploma with passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
One year of related successful work experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers and computer programs including G-Suite and Microsoft Suite, etc.
Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds
Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job
Able to professionally communicate and interact with a variety of audiences
An active Educational Aide Permit or license from the Ohio Department of Education
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year of successful experience with musical instruments, instrumentation, instrument families and how they are used in band, orchestra, etc.
1 year of successful experience with musical notation, for sorting, page order, direction, for duplication and management duties.
Salary: Step 1 - $16.39/hour (Non-degreed); $18.52/hour (2-year degree or above); $20.16 (Teaching Certificate)
