Description:The Department of Chemistry and Physics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) invites applications for a one-year renewable appointment as Lecturer in Physics beginning August 1, 2025.
Qualifications:Candidates must hold an M.S. in Physics, Astronomy, or closely-related field. Teaching experience is strongly preferred. Teaching responsibilities may include Solar Systems and Stars astronomy lecture and labs, General Science, General Physics, and Principles of Physics, depending upon expertise. Additional informal educational opportunities are available at the department's Clarence T. Jones Observatory. Candidates should also be willing to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction, and in assisting the UTC campus in its ability to reach additional goals as specified in UTC's Strategic Plan. The Department of Chemistry and Physics at UTC comprises 22 (16 Chemistry and 6 Physics) faculty members. The department has approximately 40 physics, biophysics, and quantum physics majors and is noted for excellence in undergraduate education and research, with a node on the world's first commercial quantum network (see
