Primary Duties and
Responsibilities: Position purpose: The Director of Production and Events serves as a key
strategic advisor and facilitator for the College of Music and Performing Arts
(CMPA). The director will provide facilitation and oversight of performances
and events assigned through the Dean's office of the college. For those
assigned projects, the Director of Production & Events will plan production
functions, logistics, and event details in cooperation with college staff and
faculty associated with the project. The director will create a sustainable
planning model to manage recurring events and performances while creating new
processes for planning related to special events and large-scale performances. They
will serve as a liaison to campus or external partners while guiding college
collaboration to meet the intended outcomes of each event or performance.
Essential Functions: 1. Organize and lead logistics, planning, project timelines and collaborative work to support select large, college level performances/events each academic year in CMPA. Serve as a project liaison with external and campus partners.
2. Develop and lead efficient planning and advancing processes for events and performances in CMPA resulting in effective collaboration with CMPA production staff, faculty directors and campus partners.
3. Ensure financial, artistic, and operational goals of each event or performance are set and accomplished.
4. Develop and help manage production/events budgets for projects in conjunction with involved faculty and staff. Maintain archives of budgets, production details, spending trends, and other production related materials for future planning.
5. Serve as a project liaison with external and campus partners.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): - Ability

achieve their artistic vision, and faculty and student goals, while
adhering to a budget. - Ability
to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals
either verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the
information and the message. Ability to listen and respond appropriately
to others. - Ability
to work well as part of a team, adapt to change, solve problems, and work
under tight deadlines. - Significant
production management experience. Budgeting experience along with short and long-term planning skills. - Ability
to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Ability
to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and
software.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Required EducationEducation: Bachelor's degree in performing arts related discipline required; master's degree preferred.
Required ExperienceExperience: 3 years of production/event management experience required; 5+ years of experience preferred.
