Lessons In Your Home (LIYH) is operated by experienced music educators and built around one mission: curating successful, long-term teaching relationships between teachers, students, and families.
No exclusivity required — you can keep all your current students and build your schedule your way. Teachers maintain full control over their travel radius, weekly availability, and preferred teaching methods.
We are seeking degreed and professional musicians for part-time or full-time teaching positions.
About the Role
LIYH teachers provide Traditional Music Lessons using standard notation, positive reinforcement, and clear, goal-oriented lesson plans. Most students are beginners/intermediate players, especially ages 5–15.
Looking for Piano, Guitar, Violin, Drums, Voice (and more!) Teachers.
If you want to build your teaching practice — or supplement your studio with dedicated, long-term students — this position is an excellent fit.
What You’ll Do
- Teach private, in-home lessons
- Use standard notation as the foundation of instruction
- Support weekly progress through structured, encouraging teaching
- Build musical identity through evolving, level-appropriate repertoire
- Prepare students for annual recitals

Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music (exceptions for professionally notation-literate musicians)
- Have a reliable vehicle
- Teach at consistent weekly times in students’ homes
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Commit to at least one year with new students - hopefully longer! :)
