Job Summary
The Contemporary Worship Director leads and shapes the contemporary Celebration Service at Ebenezer UMC. This person brings creativity, spiritual depth, and musical excellence to foster meaningful worship that helps people encounter God and grow in faith. The role includes building, equipping, and mentoring a team of musicians and volunteers to create vibrant, Christ-centered worship experiences. This is a part-time position that anticipates approximately 10-15 hours per week, including Sunday mornings and a weekly rehearsal.
Compensation:
$18,000–$24,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and lead the weekly contemporary Celebration worship service
- Collaborate with pastors, associate worship leader, and band members on worship planning and special services
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and schedule musicians for the Celebration Band
- Lead and direct weekly rehearsals
- Oversee audio, visual, and media components of worship in coordination with tech volunteers and staff
- Communicate clearly and consistently with musicians and tech teams regarding schedules, song selections, chord charts, and expectations
- Submit worship materials (song lists, slides, etc.) to the church office in a timely manner
- Coordinate with the bookkeeper, pastors, and/or SPR Committee regarding compensation for musicians and technicians
- Participate in staff meetings and church meetings as appropriate
- Provide worship leadership or support for other services or ministries as needed
- Ensure worship aligns with United Methodist theology and tradition
Qualifications:
- A committed Christian with experience leading contemporary worship
- Strong musical ability (vocal and/or instrumental) with confidence leading a band
- Proven ability to build, lead, and encourage volunteer teams
- Organized, dependable, and an effective communicator
- Familiarity with ProPresenter, sound systems, and A/V technology
- Creative, energetic, and spiritually mature leader
- Ability to work collaboratively with pastors, staff, and volunteers
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening

Organizational Relationship and Supervision
- The Celebration Band Worship Leader reports directly to the Senior Pastor & Staff-Parish Relations (SPR) Committee
Pay: $18,000.00 - $24,000.00 per year
