Trinity Episcopal Church is a warm, inclusive and friendly congregation located in Marshfield, MA. Trinity has a small, committed, and talented choir, and we’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and collaborative part-time Musician and Choir Director (organ or piano). They will be leading the music ministry for the 9:30 AM Sunday worship including special services for Holy Week, Ash Wednesday, Christmas Eve, Easter Sunday, and funerals. This is a salaried position with an average of 10 hours per week.
Skills & Qualifications
- Accompany Sunday services on organ and/or piano
- Lead, teach, and direct the choir and congregation in worship
- Select music in collaboration with the Priest-in-Charge using Episcopal Church sources (e.g., The 1982 Hymnal, Wonder, Love, and Praise, LEVAS II) and other appropriate material
- Rehearse weekly with the choir typically one evening during the week plus Sunday mornings (no choir rehearsal in summer).
- Engage guest musicians as needed for special services or future events
Expectations
- Experience in liturgical music, preferably within the Episcopal/Anglican tradition
- Spiritually grounded musician with a joyful heart for church music and community
- Excellent communication, organization, and rehearsal leadership
- Ability to maintain a positive, professional, and inclusive environment
- Bachelor's degree in music (or equivalent training/experience)
- Experience with keyboard instruments; our instruments include an Allen organ (electric, two-manual with full pedal board and dual computer system) and a Clavinova digital piano
- Reports to the Priest-in-Charge/Rector with staff meetings as needed or required

Pay: $14,000.00 - $16,500.00 per year
