OVERVIEW
We are seeking a self motivated individual to join our product production team as a remote part time Score Engraver. Score Engravers work at the very beginning of our product development pipeline, reducing full musical scores to two-line reductions according to company guidelines. A deep understanding of musical notion, music engraving, and transposition is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Work form full scores (often 15-25 staves) to create a two-line reduction, identifying the most important information and working within a company provided style guide.
● Complete tasks as assigned within a given timeline.
● Deliver professional, error-free engravings.
● Communicate with the Production Manager and provide regular status updates on assigned tasks.
● Track progress and record hours through an online task management app.
SKILLS
● Strong music reading and music notation skills
● Excellent transposition skills
● Deep familiarity with Finale, Sibelius, Dorico, or other music notation software.
● Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines as assigned.
Ion Concert Media is a young and vibrant company working at the intersection of music and technology. We have customers around the globe who trust us to provide best in class technology solutions and compelling digital content. We are seeking an individual to join our Product Production team as an independent contractor Score Engraver. The reduced scores you submit will be used in our digital media products, scrolling across the software interface as a guide to software operators who will use it to synchronize the digital media to a live performance.
The successful candidate will provide his/her own computer and notation program (any professional software program). Finished products must be submitted in .xml format. The company has a very unique style guide and all engravers are expected to follow it at all times. This independent contractor position does not offer a regular schedule. Engravers will be offered projects from time to time and may accept or decline the work. In general our engravers work 4-8 hours per week. This position is well suited for a college student, composer, or other musician wanting to supplement their income.
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
