Required Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to provide a variety of music materials, media, and resources that allow students to explore creativity through musical experiences.
- Ability to effectively instruct students in music education aligned with school and state curriculum standards.

- Practicing members of the Catholic faith are preferred, with a willingness to support and integrate the mission and values of Catholic education.
Duties Include
- Prepare engaging, standards-aligned music lessons that inspire creativity, skill development, and appreciation of music.
- Introduce students to a variety of musical styles, genres, cultures, composers, and traditions.
- Guide students through hands-on musical experiences, including singing, rhythm work, movement, instrument exploration, and performance.
- Assess student progress using appropriate criteria and provide constructive feedback that supports musical growth and effort.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, organized, and conducive to creativity, expression, and participation.
- Teach and reinforce proper care and use of musical instruments and classroom resources.
- Provide opportunities for student performance and celebrate student achievement through school concerts, showcases, and events.
- Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress, effort, and musical development.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as scheduled.
- Encourage students through positive reinforcement, constructive feedback, and support for individual expression.
- Support school-wide initiatives such as liturgies, concerts, special programs, and community events as needed.
- Complete additional duties during and after school hours as assigned by administration.
- Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Faculty Handbook, Parent-Student Handbook, and school guidelines.
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification (or eligibility for immediate certification) with demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging, standards-based music instruction.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills, including the ability to maintain a structured yet creative learning environment.
- Ability to assess student performance in a fair and supportive manner and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders.
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and the ability to integrate values of faith, respect, and creativity into the music classroom.
Pay: From $20,000.00 per year
