Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Church Pianist to enrich our worship services through inspiring musical accompaniment. This vital role involves playing piano for both contemporary & Hymnal worship, supporting choir performances, and creating an uplifting spiritual atmosphere with your musical talent. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of rhythm, an appreciation for sacred music, and the ability to adapt to various worship styles. As a Church Pianist, you will play a key part in fostering a welcoming and spiritually enriching environment for our community. Must be a born again Christian and agree with our church doctrine.
Duties
- Provide live piano accompaniment during weekly worship services, special events, and ceremonies
- Lead congregational singing by playing hymns, choruses, and other worship music arrangements
- Collaborate with pastors, choir directors, and worship teams to select appropriate music that aligns with service themes
- Maintain the church’s piano and related musical equipment, ensuring they are in excellent condition
- Assist in rehearsals with choir members or soloists to prepare for upcoming services or events
- Adapt to different musical styles and skill levels to create an engaging worship experience
- Support the development of new musical arrangements or compositions that enhance the spiritual atmosphere
Experience
- Proven experience as a pianist, preferably within a church or religious setting
- Knowledge of sacred music traditions across various denominations is highly desirable
- Ability to read sheet music fluently and improvise when needed
- Experience working collaboratively with clergy, choir directors, and congregation members
- Familiarity with theater-style performance techniques is a plus, contributing to dynamic and engaging worship sessions
- Strong organizational skills to manage rehearsal schedules and maintain musical instruments effectively
