Join a Team That Takes Teaching Seriously
Multi-award winning The Music Studio Atlanta is growing, and we're looking for trained music educators — not just talented performers — to join our team across three metro Atlanta locations.
If you have a background in music education (a degree in music education, performance, or a related field, or equivalent professional teaching experience), and you're looking for a place where your training is valued, your schedule is respected, and your students actually show up ready to learn — we want to meet you.
More and more of our current teachers came from public school classrooms. They tell us the same thing, over and over: they're making more money, working fewer hours for the same pay, and dealing with a fraction of the stress — no classroom management battles, no lesson plans dictated by standardized testing, just autonomy with real one-on-one and small-group teaching.
What We're Looking For:
- A music education background — a relevant degree preferred, or comparable professional teaching experience (private lesson studios, school programs, conservatory training, etc.)
- Ability to teach in more than one area — most of our teachers naturally cover a primary and secondary specialty (piano teachers who also teach voice, vocalists who also teach piano, clarinetists who also teach other woodwinds, etc.). If you have range across a primary instrument plus a related area, we want to hear from you.
- A track record of helping students grow — not just perform
- A professional, reliable, student-first teaching style
- Availability during afterschool hours, 3:00–8:00 PM, Monday–Friday (weekend hours also available)
- Openness to teaching at one or more of our locations: East Cobb, Johns Creek, and Vinings
**Bonus (not required, but great!):**
- Weekend availability, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Interest in teaching in-home lessons (Starting at $55/hr)
What We Offer:
- A supportive, professional studio environment built around instruction quality, not just filling time slots
- A steady, established student base across multiple growing Atlanta-area locations — no building your own client list from scratch
- Flexibility to design a schedule that works for you across our studios
- A team culture that treats music education as a profession, not a side gig
- We have a fabulous, organized team that does everything for you from enrolling students to creating performance opportunities to direct deposit.

Note: Our teachers work as independent contractors, not employees. That means you set your own limits, can take on other work alongside teaching here, and can deduct business expenses at tax time — but it also means no employer-provided benefits, and you're responsible for your own taxes. Many of our teachers find the trade-off is worth it: a higher effective hourly rate, full schedule control, and none of the overhead of a traditional job. If you have questions about how this compares to a W-2 role, we're happy to talk it through — and we'd always encourage checking with your own tax advisor for anything specific to your situation.
We can't wait to meet you and grow our teaching family!
