CCDE/Oakstone Academy School is seeking a Band Director for the school year. This can be a part-time or full-time Music/Band Director teaching position. The position offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, retirement packages, and accrued sick and personal time for full-time positions.
The Children's Center for Developmental Enrichment (CCDE)/Oakstone Academy School is a private, chartered school in Central Ohio. Its mission is "To Serve Students, Families, and Each Other." The school serves typically developing and special-needs students from Pre-Kindergarten through High School. It is in Westerville, Ohio, northeast of Columbus. Our special-needs students primarily have autism spectrum disorder.
Qualifications/License:
- Multi-Age (P-12) Music Teaching License through the Ohio Department of Education preferred, or
- BS or BA in Instrumental Performance or Music Education
Responsibilities/Job Highlights
- 4th and 5th-grade beginning band, Middle and High School Music, and Band Teacher for Grades 6 to 12.
- The program includes small ensembles, jazz band, orchestra pit groups, and band teaching duties.
- Strong communication skills to engage students with a diverse range of abilities.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in learning styles for students.
- Create and maintain established music programs to meet individual student needs, interests, and abilities and foster appreciation for multiple genres of music.
- Assess student accomplishments and provide feedback consistently, communicating with school administration and parents when necessary.
- Applies and enforces the school's mission, student discipline, and classroom management, following the Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Certification
- Ability to attain or have attained a Multi-Age (P-12) Music Teaching License through the Ohio Department of Education, or
- Ability to attain a Non-Tax Teaching License with the Ohio Department of Education
- Master's degree preferred to teach dual enrollment college credit classes.
