Summary
We are seeking a Church Organist for New Hope Lutheran Church. This role is essential in enhancing our worship services through music, contributing to the spiritual experience of our congregation.
Responsibilities
- Play the organ for worship services, special events, and rehearsals as scheduled.
- Collaborate with church leadership to select appropriate music that aligns with the liturgical calendar.
- Provide musical accompaniment for hymns, anthems, and other congregational singing.
- Assist in developing a music program that engages the congregation and enhances worship experiences.
- Maintain the organ and ensure it is in good working condition for all services.
- Work with choirs or musical groups within the church to prepare for performances.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an organist or pianist, preferably in a church setting.
- Strong understanding of liturgical music and hymnody.
- Ability to read music fluently and perform various musical styles.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with church staff and congregation members.
- A passion for enhancing worship through music.
