THE ROLE
The Assistant General Manager will utilize initiative and independent judgment closely with the General Manager in planning, directing and managing the day-to-day operations of the Blossom Music Center.
- Assist General Manager in managing operational budget, manage monthly P&L statements and ensuring that all financial reporting are accurate.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the client and business partners by providing leadership and direction for concessions, premium services, and merchandise operations.
- Ensure unit compliance with federal, state, local, and Legends regulations regarding sale of alcohol, OSHA, payroll, employment and EEO guidelines.
- Verify, prepare and submit reports/monthly projections as required as well as ensure effective systems for cash, inventory and payroll procedures are in place.
- Hire, train and develop staff for all events, including all staff scheduling.
- Implement Legends customer service program to ensure excellent customer service.
- Conduct operational staff meetings.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining correct inventory levels.
- Maintain cost as it pertains to labor and operating supplies, work within budgeted guidelines.
- Develop and maintain alcohol controls.
- Maintain and implement all POS procedures and policies.
- Manage monthly inventory.
- Develop yearly operational budgets.
- Ability to work long hours as business dictates and requires.
- Familiarization with unit financials.
- Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years’ management experience in the contract hospitality industry, preferably in Retail, Foodservice, Premium Services, and Concessions environment for a sports and entertainment venue.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong commitment to delivering a high level of customer and client service with demonstrated initiative, leadership, and management skills.
- Customer service oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of management.
- Must be flexible to work extend hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of accounting policy and procedures and POS Systems is required
