This is not a typical admin job. It’s a rare role supporting the founder of David Chang Music — fully remote, highly independent, and built for someone detail-oriented, warm, and long-term. You’ll be part of a high-standard environment serving ambitious clients, with work that is unusual, meaningful, and growth-oriented.
⸻
Administrative Assistant
David Chang Music is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and long-term administrative assistant to join our elite team as an integral support member to all staff and students.
This is not a typical assistant role. You will be directly supporting David Chang, the founder and CEO, whose work with clients ranges from elite piano instruction to transformational coaching with top performers across many fields.
Work for a fast-growing, rapidly evolving company in a unique position that’s 100% virtual with flexible hours, and play a key role in helping ambitious clients achieve extraordinary results.
⸻
About the Company
David Chang became nationally in-demand less than a month after the pandemic started with the advent of virtual piano lessons.
Our baseline promise is to help the serious adult learner progress at the piano extremely rapidly from sheet music - faster than anyone else - regardless of age or ability. Students accomplish in 6 to 12 months what typically takes 3 to 5 years to achieve through unique methodologies and strategies of the founder’s creation.
David works with clients at the highest level, both in piano and beyond, helping them reach goals they once thought were impossible - whether that’s unlocking their dream piano repertoire or creating a profound breakthrough in their personal and professional lives. Our students and clients include software engineers, attorneys, founders, CEOs, investors, doctors, artists, creatives, piano teachers, and professional musicians.
Alongside premium 1:1 coaching and instruction, we also maintain small, invitation-only communities (Pianist Collective and the strategic teams) that are highly unusual in the piano world. These communities bring together exceptional peers, provide an environment where students achieve remarkable independence, and offer frequent performance opportunities that set them apart from traditional programs.
Each year, David’s studio hosts a full calendar of performance opportunities: four online studio classes, two online recitals, one in-person recital, honors recitals, and other events. These are not just milestones - they are training grounds where students develop the confidence and artistry to perform piano for anyone, anywhere, anytime.
In addition, clients fly in from across the country for David’s in-person intensives - multi-day, immersive experiences that provide focused time for breakthroughs in both piano and personal transformation. These intensives offer rare access to work with David at the highest level.

Who We’re Looking For
The administrative assistant serves as the primary support to David Chang, while also assisting other teachers at David Chang Music when needed.
This role is the first point of contact for anyone reaching out to David Chang Music - from prospective students to current clients. A key part of this responsibility is qualifying new inquiries for interviews / consultations with David. This requires warmth, professionalism, discernment, and attention to detail, since the assistant helps ensure that only the most serious and aligned clients move forward in the process.
Beyond this, the assistant will handle day-to-day responsibilities such as maintaining the company’s social media presence, scheduling lessons, keeping accurate records, and working closely with David to ensure the smooth running of the studio. Just as importantly, the assistant will help refine processes and systems that support an ambitious, fast-moving environment where students and clients are achieving extraordinary results.
⸻

Company Core Values
- Be the Strongest: To stand head and shoulders above the competition is only natural because of the quality and strength of our work. To keep our place at the top, we must always be in a mindset of endless growth and improvement.
- Essentialism: We are not looking for a good client, but the ideal client. We are far more likely to say “no” than “yes” to opportunities that arise. We don’t offer tons of bonuses, discounts, and extra features - in fact, we barely offer anything at all except a very small number of absolutely top-of-the-line services. Greg McKeown’s titular book explains the concept as “The Disciplined Pursuit of Less” or “Less, but better”.
- Courage and Innovation: If the right opportunity presents itself, we take huge leaps forward even if we’re afraid. We dream huge - beyond where our competitors dare to dream. We will continue to realize game-changing ideas and innovations that will leave even our present reality in the dust.
