Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and reliable Music Accompanist who plays the piano or keyboard at each church service on Sunday mornings and other special worship services.
Duties
- Provide accompaniment at worship services to include prelude, liturgy, hymns, choir accompaniment, postlude and special music as prearranged.
- Provide accompaniment for standard non-Sunday services to include Advent, Lent, Easter, Christmas and Reformation Sunday.
- Provide accompaniment for Chancel Choir rehearsals and special performances.
- Provide accompaniment for Blended worship rehearsals, as determined by the Music Director
- Provide accompaniment for rehearsals and services for soloists and ensembles (vocal and instrumental)
- Coordinate substitute pianist for requested time off with approval of Music Director and Pastor
- Attend and participate in meetings of the Worship Team as directed by the Music Director.
Qualifications
- Proficient/excellent keyboard skills on piano in a variety of styles including some improvisation and lead sheets.
- Self-motivated with appropriate preparation for rehearsals and worship
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of Lutheran Liturgies helpful and ability to pick appropriate repertoire for worship.
- Must complete fingerprint card and background check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12,000.00 - $15,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 12 – 15 per week
