Orpheus Academy of Music is seeking a full-time salaried guitar instructor to join our faculty in Austin, TX. This is a career-track position for educators who are passionate about teaching, professional growth, and collaborative work within a structured music education environment.
Orpheus serves over 850 students and offers a comprehensive music education that includes private lessons, musicianship, performance, chamber music, and creative work. Our faculty work together within shared systems that support consistency, equity, and long-term student development.
What This Role Includes
- Teaching private guitar lessons to students of all ages and levels
- Participating in faculty meetings, training, and professional development
- Collaborating with colleagues on pedagogy, assessments, and student goals
- Preparing students for performances and school events
- Using shared systems for lesson planning, communication, and scheduling
This is a salaried faculty role, and responsibilities extend beyond teaching hours to include training, collaboration, and administrative engagement as part of a unified workload.
Training & Professional Development
All faculty participate in structured, long-term professional development, including focused training for teaching students ages 4–9. This training occurs alongside teaching and emphasizes mentorship, observation, dialogue, and the study of effective teaching practices.
Orpheus maintains a collaborative pedagogical culture that draws from established research and diverse traditions in music education. Faculty are expected to actively engage in this process and grow as educators.

Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Guitar, Music Performance, Pedagogy, or a related field
- At least 3 years of teaching experience
- Strong musicianship and commitment to teaching
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
Pay: $3,200.00 - $3,750.00 per month
