Part Time Instructor - Voice (MUAP-MUSI)The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Voice (MUAP-MUSI) at our Brenham Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:Job Summary To provide private instruction to voice students, as well as possibly teaching other music courses as assigned
Principal Accountabilities- Provide private vocal instruction and teach other music courses as assigned
- Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations
- Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence
- Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication
- Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution
- Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources
- Evaluate student performance through a variety of means to ensure progress and keep them informed in a timely manner
- Assist in the development, distribution, and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives
- Provide recommendations on curriculum as requested
- Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community
- Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments
- Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities
- Possess a passion for teaching community college students
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally
- Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings
- Utilize the college LMS to post grades and other resources for students
- Responsible for other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or CertificationsMinimum Competencies- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other instructors, staff, administration and students.
- Ability to instruct students while achieving the course learning objectives.
Preferred Qualifications- Undergraduate teaching experience of voice students, or at least 3 years of high caliber private vocal teaching experience
- Experience and training in teaching undergraduate music courses in a variety of modalities
