As Rancho Solano Preparatory School experiences a period of expansion and growth, we are looking to hire a Part-Time (1-2 classes per day) Middle & High School Guitar/Ukulele/Piano teacher.
The successful candidate will:
· Demonstrate a passion for music.
· Provide instrumental music instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
· Create a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
· Maintain a safe and orderly environment.
· Maintain established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
· Maintain a professional appearance as an example to students.
· Remain at school during contracted hours, unless otherwise instructed to leave by building principal.
· Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
· Maintain reasonable rules of conduct that encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
· Meet and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
· Demonstrate a high level of musicianship with an understanding of proper playing technique and age-appropriate repertoire,
· Provide instruction on guitar, ukulele and piano to students of all ability levels between the grade levels of 6-12.
· Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with the Fine Arts team to develop a cohesive curriculum that cultivates a progressive and natural transition,
· After-school, evening or weekend hours may be necessary.
· Complete other duties as assigned.
· Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, including obtaining a level one AZ Fingerprint Clearance card.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises students.
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required and prior classroom experience
