Taylor’s Music Store is a family-oriented, full-line modern music store offering sales, service, rentals, and lessons and has been in business over 95 years. Taylor’s is seeking a part-timeSales Associate. This permanent part-time Sales Associate position will perform general sales tasks for musical instrument inventory 15 - 20 hours per week.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sales Floor
· Gain product knowledge across a wide breadth of instruments including guitars, amps, percussion, band, orchestra, and accessories.
· Interface with customers using well developed customer service skills and professionalism.
· Use POS (Point of Sale) software to ring up customers.
Other Duties
· Receive incoming inventory per established protocol.
· Keep inventory clean and dusted.
· Maintain store cleanliness and order.
· Complete other general tasks as required.
Abilities and Skills
· Play at least one instrument with ability to read music
· Excellent customer service skills
· Good interpersonal skills with ability to work with sales staff, management, and customers
· Organized and detail oriented with a drive for a high level of accuracy
· Familiar with using customer and inventory POS database systems
· Ability to follow instructions, multi-task, and take initiative in keeping sales floor presentable
Job Requirements
· High School diploma
· 1 – 3 years experience in customer service preferred
· Must be able and willing to work until 7pm some weeknights, and Saturdays or Sundays
· Must be able and willing to work summer months and holidays (Christmas break, holiday weekends, etc.)
· Willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed, and as required during our Rental Return and Rental seasons
Additional Requirements
· Ability to ascend / descend a flight of stairs
· Be able to lift up to 10 pounds
Compensation
· Competitive market-based pay, commensurate with experience and education
