Overview
Bring music to life as a Piano Teacher, helping students build skills, confidence, and a lasting connection to the arts. You’ll teach piano and instrumental performance through engaging, age-appropriate lessons for children and, as needed, adult learners. Your impact: thoughtful instruction helps students develop musical ability, express themselves creatively, and enjoy steady progress.
Duties
- Plan and deliver individual or group piano lessons, adapting instruction to students’ ages, abilities, and learning needs.
- Develop curriculum and lesson plans that build music-reading, technique, practice habits, and performance skills.
- Manage the classroom and use positive behavior-management approaches to support a focused, welcoming learning environment.
- Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate learning goals with students and families as appropriate.
- Contribute to youth programs and broader creative arts instruction; collaborate on activities that may connect music with theater, dance, choreography, ballet, photography, cooking, or sewing.
Requirements
- Demonstrated piano proficiency and experience teaching music, musical instruments, or instrumental performance.
- Experience working with students, especially children; youth programs, preschool, early childhood education, childcare, or classroom experience is valuable.
- Strong teaching, tutoring, classroom-management, lesson-planning, and communication skills; knowledge of childhood development or special education is a plus.
- Experience in visual and performing arts, teaching arts, dance instruction, dancing, theater, or other creative arts is welcome.
- Specialization in creative arts instruction, adult education, or culinary experience may be helpful, but is not required.
Pay: $30.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 20.0 per week
