Job Summary
Red Shed Music is seeking independent vocal artists (rapper/singer or hybrid) to record original vocals/lyrics for upcoming songs. This is a paid, project-based opportunity with two options:
- In-studio session (Boston-area) OR
- Remote recording (you record where you are and send high-quality files)
We’re looking for artists with a strong voice, good timing, and the ability to deliver clean, professional vocal takes.
Duties
- Write and/or perform rap and/or singing vocals for assigned songs (hook, verse, ad-libs as needed)
- Record vocals in-studio (if local) or remotely with clean audio quality
- Deliver final vocal files on time (stems) via WeTransfer
- Communicate clearly about availability, revisions, and creative direction
- Optional: collaborate on song structure, melody ideas, and punch-in revisions
Requirements
- 18+ years old
- Ability to rap and/or sing with solid rhythm and delivery
- If recording remotely: access to a decent mic/setup OR ability to record clean vocals (no heavy background noise)
- Ability to send files as WAV (preferred) through WeTransfer
- Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable signing a simple agreement confirming payment terms + usage rights for the project
Rates (paid per song/part):
- Verse (16 bars): $100-$200 + depending on scope/experience
- Hook: $100+$150 +. Includes 1 revision. Extra revisions/punch-ins available.

Pay: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour
